This was on my walk to school this morning. Today is the first day of December and we've had enough snow that actually stuck that my favorite tiny riding snow blower that's the width of the sidewalk has been driving down the sidewalk to clear it just for me. These are the tire tracks (it looks like an x-ray of a spine). I'm glad to know that the riding snow blower will come all the way up my hill to my new place . . . or at least to the part where the sidewalk ends that's just across the street from my new place.
Mainiacs is a revered term, only given to those who are 5th generation (or more) born in Maine. If you were born in Maine but you are 1st - 4th generation, you're a Mainer. Everyone else is just "a person from away". I came to Maine for "just one semester," but now I'm "tenure track" which means I'm here to stay for a while. As I was in those first few months, I am very excited about this adventure and the chance to meet the great people of Maine.
